In addition to the Content Prefetch API, there are Structured Data (schema.org)

This addition to Content Prefetch API theoretically allows Google to recognize live blogs as 'live' content.

With a live label, live content appears in Google's top results carousel.

This is still possible 'out of the box' in 2024 and is merely an addition to the aforementioned and recommended Prefetch API.
